If your working day runs longer than the school day, ask the school office about care outside school hours, its times and availability.

The school day

The day runs from 8:00 to 3:25.

Every child at Huda Academy keeps the same school day, from 8:00 in the morning to 3:25 in the afternoon, from infants to the oldest students.

Mornings

Lessons begin at 8:00, and students who arrive after 8:05 are marked tardy. Building a few minutes of slack into the morning journey makes the start of the day calmer for everyone, especially for younger children who find a rushed goodbye hard.

The school will confirm

What time the doors open in the morning, whether children can be dropped off before 8:00, and whether there is supervised care before school.

Preschool children

Infants, toddlers and PreK children follow the same 8:00 to 3:25 day, but families of preschool children may pick them up early, or at any time in the day. Children from infants through Kindergarten also have a nap during the day.

Kindergarten to Grade 9

From Kindergarten, children stay for the full day. This is not a school preference: Arkansas law requires children in these grades to attend the full school day to meet the state’s educational requirements. Planning work hours around 3:25 is the starting point for most families.

After school

What happens after 3:25.

For many working families, the question is not when school ends but what happens next. Here is what is known, and what the school still needs to confirm.

After-school clubs

Clubs are run by teacher volunteers after school hours, and any student can join with a parent’s consent and a sign-up fee. The school’s previous website gave club times as Monday to Thursday, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.Needs fixing A club is an activity, not childcare, but on club days it does mean a later pick-up for children who take part.

The Clubs & Student Leadership page lists what is on offer at each stage.

Care outside school hours

The school has not yet published whether it offers before-school or after-school care. Rather than guess, this page will set out the details once they are confirmed. In the meantime, the school office is the place to ask, and it helps to tell them your working hours so they can say what is possible.

The school will confirm

Whether before-school or after-school care is offered; the hours; which ages it is for; the cost and how it is paid; how families book it; and what happens if a parent is late for pick-up.
