Islamic studies, Qur’an, Arabic and the Ijazah
Islamic studies, Qur’an and Arabic are taught four times a weekNeeds fixing, and teachers follow the curriculum the school provides. Islamic studies uses Living IslamNeeds fixing, the series for high school.
The Ijazah program began with Grade 9 this school yearNeeds fixing. An Ijazah is a certificate from a qualified teacher, traditionally carrying a chain of teachers back to the Prophet, peace be upon him, confirming that a student recites the Qur’an correctly. The school has 11 huffaz on staff.
Older students lead too: they give the khutbah on Fridays and mentor younger children during salah.
