The school day

The school day, from drop-off to pick-up.

Families want to know how the day fits around their own. These are the answers to the questions we are asked most about hours, naps and pick-up.

What are the school hours?

The school day runs from 8:00 to 3:25. Students who arrive after 8:05 are marked tardy.

Do infants and toddlers keep the same hours?

Yes. The youngest children follow the same 8:00 to 3:25 day as everyone else, shaped around their age.

Do the younger children nap?

Yes. Infants through Kindergarten take a nap during the day.

Is Kindergarten a full day?

Yes. Kindergarten is a full day only, to meet the requirements of the Arkansas Department of Education.

Is Jummah held at the school?

Yes, at 1pm on Fridays. Families of enrolled students are given the details.

Are sports teams mixed too?

No. Classrooms are mixed, but the teams are not. The volleyball team is for girls and the soccer team is for boys. The school is working with other schools to arrange games against them.

Which prayers do students pray at school?

Students from Grade 1 up pray Dhuhr together at school. Older students mentor the younger ones during salah, and on Fridays an older student gives the khutbah.

Do children learn the Qur’an?

Yes. Each grade memorizes its own portion of the Qur’an over the year, and the teacher tracks every student’s progress. Eleven of the school’s staff are huffaz, and this year the school began an Ijazah program with its Grade 9 students.
